Quads

Quadriceps are composed of four major muscles; vastus medialisvastus lateralis, rectus femoris and vastus intermedius. The major function of these four are knee extensors and also function as hip flexors. It takes a good training protocol and great nutrition in order to make them grow. It usually takes several years to build and develop great quadriceps. Here is a short list of general quad builders:
  • Squats
  • Deadlifts
  • Leg Extensions
  • Hack Squats
  • Leg Press
  • Lunges
The above is a short list of quad exercises. When performed using the correct form and adjusting weight will make your quads grow. Training one's quads requires diligence and patience.  One must be consistent and use good form and technique specially when squatting to make them grow proportionate.  Remember, consult with your doctor/physician before commencing any exercise or weight lifting program.
